DAFNI Fellowship

The DAFNI Programme has launched a new Fellowship Programme which will start from April 2026. Become an ambassador for DAFNI and promote your own research while building networks across government, industry and academia. The funding will run from April 2026 to June 2027.

Turing AI pioneer interdisciplinary fellowships (invite only)

Apply for fellowship funding to build artificial intelligence (AI) capability.

This funding opportunity is for established researchers from across UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)’s remit, without a background in core AI research, who want to build domain relevant AI capability.

You may apply only if invited to do so following a successful outline application.

ADR UK Research Fellowships 2025 (RF2025)

Apply for Administrative Data Research UK (ADR UK) research fellowship funding, to use ADR England flagship data for research. Fellowships can be up to 18 months in duration and cost a maximum of £200,000 (100% FEC).

You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for ESRC funding.

Turing AI Global Fellowships

This fellowship funding opportunity is for exceptional Artificial Intelligence (AI) researchers currently based outside of the UK.

The fellowship offers funding to relocate to the UK and undertake transformational AI research that strengthens the UK’s position as a global leader in AI.

Fellowships can last up to five years.

Professional doctorate: clinical research training fellowship

Your research can focus on any area of Medical Research Council (MRC)’s remit to improve human health.

You must:

  • be a registered healthcare professional
  • be at an appropriate point in your training to undertake a PhD
  • show plans to pursue a research career

Capacity building: clinical research training fellowship

Apply for funding to reacquire research skills.

Your research can focus on any area of Medical Research Council (MRC)’s remit to improve human health.

You must:

  • be a registered healthcare professional
  • be a PhD graduate working outside of research, usually five or more years ago
  • show plans to pursue a research career

Early independence: clinician scientist fellowship

Apply for an early independence fellowship if your research focus is within Medical Research Council (MRC) remit.

You must:

  • be a registered healthcare professional
  • have a PhD or equivalent
  • show evidence of career consolidation and productivity
  • show clear plans for establishing your own research niche

Pre-announcement: Future Leaders Fellowships: round 11

Apply for funding to support ambitious research and innovation across UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)’s remit. You must be an early career researcher or innovator who is either:

  • looking to establish or transition to independence
  • developing original and ambitious plans within a commercial setting

Daphne Jackson fellowship

These fellowships are for those looking to return to a research career after a break. Fellowships combine a personalised retraining programme with a challenging research project. They are flexible, usually lasting two years at 0.5 full-time equivalent, although some UKRI funders may award longer.
